Beginning in July 2015, the City of Sand Springs Planning Department began an update for the Comprehensive Plan. Visioning toward 2030, this plan's update includes prioritized updates for the entire community with focuses on public safety, economic development, land use and more.

The City Council for the City of Sand Springs approved the 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update via Resolution 17-25 on June 26th, 2017 at there Regularly Scheduled Meeting.
